That Thing that’s Happening

Given the current situation with COVID-19, we'd like to share the steps we’re taking to guard the health and safety of our guests, neighbors, and staff. All of us at the Downtown Clifton are taking this seriously and approaching the season with equal measures of vigilance, caution and calm. It’s pretty sleepy around here, but our hotel remains open for those essential business travelers working in Tucson, and our kitchen and bar remains open as well — takeout or dine in…still made with love and so much appreciation.

Keeping it Clean

·      Our staff is receiving regular briefings and enhanced operating protocols from management, in accordance with WHO, CDC, and Pima County Department of Health guidelines.

·      We have tripled the frequency of cleaning all surfaces of our public areas (including the lobby, bar, and restaurant surfaces, handles, switches, and fixtures) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant.

·      We have enhanced our housekeeping protocols and inspections. In addition, before each checkin, a senior manager sanitizes all room keys, door handles, switches, remote controls, and all commonly touched surfaces.

·      As always, our food and beverage operation is continuing to regularly sanitize all equipment, prep areas, containers, glassware and tableware. We have temporarily suspended our morning snack service for guests, but will happily deliver a complimentary pot of French Press coffee to your door on request.

The Red Light Lounge
The Red Light Lounge remains open for your drinking and dining pleasures. We are implementing social distancing and of course, masks are mandatory.

Travel Flexibility
We understand that travel restrictions may require you to cancel or amend an existing reservation. If you’ve made a reservation through a third party like Booking or Expedia, please update through those channels. Otherwise, give us a call with as much advance notice as you can, and we’ll be as flexible as possible to meet your needs.

Guest Assistance
If you have any specific questions about what we’re doing, need help with a reservation or cancellation, need advice on travel arrangements, or if you just want us to whip up a burger and bring it to your room, call our front desk at 520-623-3163. We’re in the hospitality business, after all.
